This very pretty listed cottage on the outskirts of Norwich was bought by a successful property developer for his daughter.  The existing bathroom and kitchen were not to be replaced, however the house needed redecoration throughout and furnishing on a tight budget.  Bold colours were overpainted with soft pastels to pull the rooms together and give an overall feeling of femininity, warmth and light.  All new light fittings were added and feature walls papered in the bedrooms to add drama.  Ready-made curtains by Laura Ashley were fitted on poles along with hand-made matching cushions.  Our designer chose to stay away from any ultra modern furnishings, instead opting for classical and antique designs where possible.   The current fashion for New England style furniture worked wonders in the dining room.  The overall result was a delightful, comfortable cottage for a very modest price.
